Thrivent Builds Worldwide - Service Opportunity

Take a trip. Help shape a community in El Salvador. Change lives. In El Salvador, nearly a third of the population lives in substandard housing, whether that means in shacks built from plastic, scrap lumber, and corrugated sheet metal or in overcrowded conditions in an apartment. With high living costs and constantly rising prices, low-income families struggle to meet their basic needs. You can join with other Thrivent Financial members, Lutherans and volunteers to help become an “architect of peace.”

Sign up now for a ten-day volunteer work trip to El Salvador through the Thrivent Builds Worldwide El Salvador Community program. This is your chance to work side-by-side with other Lutherans and Salvadoran partner families to build dignified, affordable housing. Not only will you work with families to help build one home, you’ll help build an entire community of up to 75 homes in El Salvador. In addition to typical volunteer construction responsibilities, you’ll also have fun meeting other Thrivent Financial members who have common values and interests. And you’ll create lifelong friendships and stronger communities.

Trip costs:

Members of Thrivent Financial: Receive a $340 discount toward trip costs ($710 plus airfare to San Salvador). It’s the power of your membership in action.

Nonmembers: $1,050 (plus airfare to San Salvador).
